Interpretation
This original song is titled “Lunarvine”, a fictional flower that represents the ambiguous boundary between reality and nightmares. The main character for R3 is Remi, a human student cursed to be unable to dream, and instead forced to witness the nightmares of everyone around him. This is why he created the “dream club” with Khaya (R1), who used his dreams and delusions to bear with reality, and Ari (R2), who protected her destiny through her defiance. As the constant nightmares invading reality begin to drive Remi insane, Eve sees that he is the weakest link and chooses to give him the Book of Fate, tempting him with a world untouched by nightmares. But with the support of Khaya and Ari, Remi defies Eve’s temptation. However, Remi decides that fate should not be entrusted back to the very people responsible for the suffering he and his friends endured. Instead, he destroys the Book of Fate, choosing not to be a fatewalker or storywriter, but a "liberator", choosing a world that progresses naturally, without predetermination. The song is beat-forward, featuring a prominent trap snare roll that expresses Remi’s feeling of constantly running from nightmares. It also stylistically distinguishes between Remi and Eve’s verses; Eve’s sections are softer in instrumentation, with a cooing vocal timbre. The lyrics narrate Remi’s battle with insanity and Eve’s temptation. Notably, in the rap section, Eve’s operatic adlibs struggle to keep up with Remi’s relentless verse, building toward his resilient finale. The chorus is especially high-drive, with the counting up motif expressing Remi’s movement toward the future. Wordplay like “Nine, ten → I tend” reinforces his blurred perception of reality. The mixed media visuals featuring video footage, photography, astrophotography, acrylic painting, and digital media reflect Remi’s experience, where reality and nightmares blur together, pushing him toward madness. This final song is about Remi but also about the club bringing together all three rounds of narrative.
